Grant Difford has inspired our team and we’re revolutionising our ways of working. One of the turning points came with a touch of spookiness. We were challenged to set some ambitious annual goals after our worst loss in 30 years.
We decided to target a profit of $500,000 in the following six months. Just at this moment, we were interrupted by a call from our accountant who had discovered more than $600,000 in a compulsory insurance trust that had grown heavily over-subscribed in our favour. Yes, it was an incredible coincidence.
But the workshops we’ve had with Grant are going to deliver far more than this. We have realised that a large chunk of our potential has lain dormant because we were putting our energy into the wrong places. Changing ‘busy-ness’ to effectiveness is indeed waking the giant.
Grant and the team at Waking Giants have been great to work with throughout the development of our brand. They really understood our vision and with their energy and enthusiasm created something beyond what we thought was possible. This made a significant difference to our web and social media presence alongside our new branding profile.
I’ve been building companies for 25 years and have worked with numerous agencies and professionals of all shapes and sizes.
Waking Giants have a unique combination of creative problem solving and efficiently getting things done. This has helped see the return on investment I’ve received for my business, far exceed any that of any creative company I’ve ever worked with.
Grant and the team have worked with GridAKL, Auckland’s innovation precinct, over the last four years bringing to life our brand identity. During that time we have developed an open and honest collaborative process which has enabled us to develop a clear strategy for our brand and how this is implemented.
Grant is able to transcend disciplines and work in a multi-faceted approach combing strategic insight, design and implementation. He works to understand business needs, objectives and outcomes and helps clients develop strategies to elevate their position and speak to their target audiences. I value Grant’s objectivity and strategic clarity as a critical friend.
Hallmark Group began working closely with Waking Giants after researching and meeting with several different marketing companies within New Zealand. We felt Waking Giants stood out from the rest of the pack due to their prompt response, X-factor and their ability to quickly understand our various products and markets.
From day 1 Grant and his team have been exceptional in our journey to increase and develop new brands, and the concepts that they have created have exceeded all our original expectations. What has really stood out is the hands-on approach and attention to the smallest details that Waking Giants have undertaken in bringing new products to market. I would certainly recommend Waking Giants to any company who is looking to increase brand awareness and market share.
We have used Waking Giants for 3 years now, and have found the experience and outcomes exceeding our expectations. Clear ‘out of the box’ strategic thinking has challenged us and led us to develop better strategies for the business and marketing approach.
Everyone can be a great leader. When we start businesses we often do what we know how to do, rather than solve a problem. Are you a technician or an entrepreneur?
Does your current strategy align with your long-term vision? If not how do you think that’s going to work? Even worse, what if you don’t have a strategic plan.
What does growth look like for you? Its the first question we ask when we work with leaders and their businesses. It starts the journey of understanding what is truly important.
Culture is a competitive advantage. Your company culture cannot be ignored or disregarded as ‘more’ cost. To retain and attract great people, you have to create a great company.
How do you make people feel? You have the opportunity to create an emotional connection with your customers that will live long after the sale.
The plan is only a roadmap to get you where you want to go. The real art is putting it into action, tracking milestones and holding key parties accountable.
